Who we are?

Florencia Djoe, ASID Allied

My design journey began in 1985 in Jakarta, where I first discovered the power of creativity. Back then, I sold my drawings to afford American and French books and to pay for my college tuition—an experience that sparked my lifelong passion for interior design.

Since those early days, I’ve been fortunate to work with variety of international companies such as Toto, Heritage, Transview Décor Pte. Ltd, Jones Lang Wotton Intl. in Jakarta. I have been exposed in designing high end residential, commercial and hospitality projects.

To understand the clients, know their lifestyle, character and heritage are my privilege to make a great design and its application and I took the same concept for my first autism-related design school project in Palo Alto, California that won an ASID Community Award.

My experiences trained me to make each project a customized design and make a good impact for the users and to the one who enter and use the space.

Having my first-hand experience, I am deeply grateful for this journey and remain passionate about helping families create spaces where their children can thrive and enjoy a better quality of life. I will continue this journey—for my child, and for others like him.

There, I witnessed how profoundly interior design can affect a child with autism. I realized they are unique and as an interior designer by trained I can see the impact of interior design elements such as color, texture, pattern, clear layout can change their behaviors and wellbeing. This insight inspired me to specialize in sensory-friendly design—creating spaces where children feel safe, calm, and truly supported.

I am deeply grateful. Today, I proudly collaborate with Occupational Therapists to craft environments that make a real difference in children’s lives whether it is a home, clinic, education setting or public area.

Interior design application is more than purchasing products, accessorizing, make it look beautiful, luxury or establish a branding impact to a space. Interior design has bigger potential than those and achieve another level higher, it can be a therapeutic and wellness environment if it applies appropriately based on the right user’s individual profile.

I am deeply grateful. Today, I proudly collaborate with Occupational Therapists to craft environments that make a real difference in children’s lives whether it is a home, clinic, education setting or public area.
